haven't seen him for ages
just plucked enough courage to go see him
walk upto the window, he's there
thinking of the last time i saw him
didn't he have longer hair?

the shaking hand on my arm waves
a nod back arrives
outstanding relief smothers me
christ knows why

walk in the door, forget all about it
as i'm taken aback by the croud
till he coughs
my eyes immediately are jolted towards the stage
god he's gorgeous

i sit down on the furthest chair
looking but not directly
they start
was this a good idea?

drinks start working
great songs ringing in my ears
getting up and swaying
god why didn't i rehearse this?

his solo rapidly arrives
i'm gripped to hear it again
feeling of delight hits my cheeks
he never looks to see if im there

a great night comes to an end
guitar and drum solos still remain in my mind
wanting a chat with him
he's busy, always is
say hi to a familliar face

told of next gig
eyes light up at thought of another place to watch!
respond with outstandingly positive yes!
look over... but i'll be reminded of my stupidity

walk away with mixed emotions
i'm feeling like this all night
knowing nothing will come of it
but that never stops me from dreaming
or thinking... maybe one day!!
but it wont!
